Supermarket prices for fresh tomatoes could double from a national average of $2.50 per pound to $5 per pound or more, if the Department of Commerce terminates its 16-year-old tomato trade agreement with Mexico, according to an economic impact analysis commissioned by the Nogales, Ariz.-based Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA).
