Growers and scientists unite to prevent spread of banana disease

Fruit will be inspected at border entry points

Colombia’s Agricultural Institute (ICA) and banana growers’ associations ASBAMA and AUGURA have rigorously implemented control and prevention measures to prevent the spread of Panama disease caused by the Tropical Race strain of the fungus Fusarium oxysporum (TR4) in the country, said the institute.
