Brazil increases tax credit on carbonated soft drinks

Industry protests are successful

Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro has signed a decree that raises from 8% to 10% a tax credit relative to the so-called IPI tax on industrialised products, which is refunded to manufacturers of soft drink concentrates based in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM).
