Polish fresh apple inventory more than twice last year’s size

Overall European stocks also remain at a very high level

Poland was holding 405,000 tonnes of fresh apples as at May 1 this year, compared with 170,000 tonnes in stock on May 1 2018. This means that Poland managed to dispose of 260,000 tonnes of fruit during April this year, but at this late stage of the season, such large inventories are a cause for concern.
