One tenth of French farmers now work in the organic sector
Organic farming now encompasses 7.5% of France’s arable land, says new report
Agence Bio, the French organic association and public body, says that organic farming is booming in France, with 2.0 million hectares under organic cultivation in 2018. The objective is to double the area to 15% by the end of 2020. To reach this target, the association estimates that 8% of field crops will have to be organic. In the sector of pulses, 40% already are.
