MEPs vote to outlaw meat and dairy labels on plant-based or lab-grown products

Agriculture Committee text still needs backing from full European Parliament

Veggie burgers and vegan sausages would be a thing of the past if the European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee (ComAgri) has its way following an April 1 vote to ban use of meat terms for plant-based products or anything that does not come from animals directly, so cell-cultured proteins.
