Dried Fruit & Nuts 2018 supplement now available for download!

IEG Vu’s look at the Dried Fruit & Nut sector includes features on raisins, peanuts, Brazil nuts, dried apple and walnuts.

The dried fruit & nuts industry has not been immune to the various political changes seen in the past two years; from US President Donald Trump’s trade war against China and the imposition of new tariffs on agricultural produce from Turkey and India, through to the prospect of Brexit.

In Tanzania, cashew nuts became political with the country’s government deciding to buy the entire crop, employing the army to do so, sending prices up around the world.

Meanwhile, emerging growers are looking to benefit from the trade disruption as buyers look for supplies from alternative origins.

The industry is experiencing an unsteady scenario, where deep price changes, currency devaluations and subsidies for affected growers are common: none of them healthy trends in the world market.

But are we witnessing a transitional period into a new global scenario, painful but, at the same time, fascinating and full of opportunities?

The IEG Vu Dried Fruit & Nuts 2018 supplement is now available to download from the Resources> Market Reviews section of the website or direct via this link.
