IEG Vu Prices Briefing: Cheaper pork, costlier AJC; desiccated coconut price fall unlikely to last; sugar futures down

Chinese pigmeat prices have fallen as the Lunar New Year holiday ends: 30% down on last year's levels. Sugar futures have also dropped, and large inventories are driving down soy oil prices. European butter prices are too high for Middle Eastern buyers, who are opting for New Zealand product. However, Sri Lankan coconut oil is still expensive, killing demand, and China has raised its prices for AJC destined for the US.
