NZ culls 4,000 cattle to contain disease, experts weigh threat to beef farms

New Zealand is to cull around 4,000 cattle to prevent the cattle disease Mycoplasma bovis from spreading to new areas. Government officials are hopeful the pathogen has been contained and believe NZ farming systems are in any case likely to make animals less prone to infection.
