Mercosur countries in negotiations with Europe

The presidents of the four founding countries of Mercosur (Venezuela still have no voice or vote within the bloc) will arrive on Thursday in the Argentine city of Mendoza for a new summit to move forward in trade negotiations with other countries and blocs, especially with the European Union (EU). In the eyes of the heads of state of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, this should be the priority in the coming months, in which the Brazilian government will take over from Argentina as the head of Mercosur. The idea of an agreement with the Pacific Alliance (Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile) will also be supported - an initiative that was discussed at a seminar in Mendoza, on the eve of the meeting.
