Brazil leads production of embryos without laboratories

Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology presents a technology called intrafollicular transfer of immature oocytes (ITIO). It offers all the advantages of in vitro fertilization (IVF) with the added advantage of not requiring a laboratory. Breeders can get embryos as easily as in IVF, that is - around one calf per week from a single donor cow - without leaving the farm.
