With decrease of consumption in the country, slaughthouses expand export
Third largest meat industry group in the Brazil, the Aurora Cooperative Central Foods, in the west of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, goes through a series of challenges to minimize the impacts caused by the economic crisis.
"There is an oversupply in the domestic market product. If it was not the export, we would be distributing the products for people because of the difficulties of the flow of production," says Vice President, Neivor Canton.
In the first half of the year, Aurora grown up 37% in revenues export of poultry and pork meat from the same period last year, reaching R $ 1.137 billion. Nevertheless, the external market is not profitable as in previous years.
The volume shipped by Aurora in the period reached 166,134 tons of products, an average of 27 tons per month. In 2015, he obtained a gross operating revenue of R $ 7.7 billion, of which R $ 1.85 billion were through exports - adding a world growth of around 35%.
