Brazilian chicken price sup in the first half of July
The chicken market will close the first half of July up. Good turnover, typical of the period, pushed up live animal and meat prices. According to researchers from Cepea, part of the sector (producers, integrated farmers and cooperatives) have been working with tight margins due to high production costs but the high supply of live animals and meat had limited pass-throughs. Now, costs are being passed on. From June 30 to July 14 live chicken prices rose in the major regions surveyed by Cepea. The biggest rise was in Pará de Minas (Minas Gerais), where prices rose by 1.5%, to R$ 2.99 / kg. For meat, the largest increases this month have been in the southern states.
