Fewer animals: demand and supply of cattle down in Brazil's Center-West
In April, 349,660 head of cattle were slaughtered, 7.52% down on March 2016. In the year so far slaughter has fallen consistently, last month being the lowest April since 2009. 56.69% of the cattle slaughtered the year have been males, while in the same period of 2015 this figure was 50.23%. The fall is because of the shortage of females for slaughter.
