Hog and broiler production costs up in February

Broiler and hog production costs calculated by the Poultry and Hog Intelligence Center (CIAS) at Embrapa ( rose by 3.71% and 1.14%, respectively, in January 2016, reaching record levels. The increase was driven by increased spending on nutrition (3.42%) and day-old chicks (0.29%). In the first two months of this year alone the index has gained 11.69%, and 30.01% in the last 12 months.
