ANEC sees challenge ahead for Brazil in soybean exports
Brazil's soy exporters will have an additional challenge as global leaders as grain stocks in 2015/16 season build up after bumper crops in the United States and South America, said the president of the National Association of Cereal Exporters (ANEC), Luis Barbieri.
"We are experiencing a rebuilding of global soybean stocks to levels rarely seen. This is a challenge, and we must be efficient," said Barber, who is also an executive in Brazil for Louis Dreyfus.
He was referring to pressure on international prices exerted by large harvests globally. The US, the largest global producer, has just harvested a large crop, while Brazil and Argentina are planting what may be a new record crop.
