JBS rolls out two more cattle units
JBS is to this month roll out two more cattle units in Brazil, taking its slaughter capacity to around 40,000 animals per day.
The plants, in Araguaína (TO) and Iguatemi (MS) have the potential to generate additional net revenue of R$ 1 billion a year for JBS Carnes, the beef division owned by JBS SA Tin Brazil. This division is part of JBS Mercosul, which earned R$ 18.5 billion up to the third quarter of last year. The company does not disclose data for its Brazilian division alone.
JBS plans to serve the domestic market and also export from the two plants.
