JBS SA informed that its Brazilian subsidiary JBS Foods has completed the acquisition of Tyson Foods’ poultry operations in Brazil after approving the agreement on October 23 by the Brazil’s Council for Economic Defense (Cade).
Announced for the first time in July, the transaction added up to US$ 175 million involving a cash payment and the assumption of debt by JBS. The company is acquiring three Tyson processing plants in Brazil: two in the state of Santa Catarina, and one in Paraná.
JBS expects that the acquired assets generate an annual income of approximately BRL 1.2 billion for JBS Foods.
