One of the largest beef slaughterhouses signs an agreement to eradicate slave labor

The second largest beef processor in Brazil, Marfrig Global Foods, has joined the e National Agreement on the Eradication of Slave Labor (InPACTO), the company said on Tuesday (September 16).

According to the deal with Greenpeace, Marfrig has created a geospatial monitoring model for its network of farmers in the Amazon biome, which began to be used in 2010.

In April, Greenpeace confirmed that JBS, Marfrig and Minerva had developed adequate tracking systems that block the purchase of cattle from farmers in the Amazon who have ties to deforestation, slave labor practices or who are operating on indigenous lands or conservation areas.
