Russian embargo will not hold back chicken meat prices

The continued slide in grain prices in 2015 will improve profit margins for poultry in almost every producing country. Rabobank, a leading private funder of agribusiness worldwide, says beef and pork prices are rising while the global supply of chicken remains limited, pointing to rising prices.

"The outlook for the global poultry industry remains optimistic for the remainder of 2014," says Nan-Dirk Mulder, an analyst at Rabobank. “Some trends on the market will keep chicken meat prices up while the prices of other meats may experience some pressure from the market."

Given this positive scenario, Rabobank reiterates that the Russian embargo will not hinder the prospects of rising chicken meat prices worldwide.
