Arabs want to diversify food imports
Three North African food importers are looking for products they do not yet buy from Brazil.
Waleed Khoshala, director of imports at Ragab Sons Group in Egypt, said his company is already a major importer of chicken from Brazil, buying from large national companies such as BR Foods, JBS and Minerva.
In negotiations this week in Brazil, however, his interest has been in suppliers of dairy products, as well as chocolate and biscuits. "I am looking for unsalted butter, which sells very well in my country, but we depend a lot on New Zealand. I want to buy from another country and Brazil has good quality unsalted butter," Khoshala says.
