Brazil’s beef exports to Arab countries set new record
Brazil’s beef exports to the Arab countries have grown by 39% year on year. From January to April beef accounted for nearly 15% of all Brazil’s exports to the Middle East and North Africa, according to the Arab-Brazil Chamber of Commerce.
According to the director general of the Chamber, Michel Alaby, the Saudis are replenishing stocks. At Ramadan, between dawn and dusk they fast and pray. At the end of each day, they eat traditional dishes. Ramadan lasts for 29 days and during this period the food courts, restaurants and even some supermarkets work reduced hours, forcing people to stock up on food at home.
