Brazil awaits the resumption of beef exports to Peru
After being visited by a technical mission from Peru, the Ministry of Agriculture is awaiting the resumption of beef and derivative exports to Peru. The Peruvian mission, which was in the country from June 2 to 6, included three veterinarians, and went to the state of Mato Grosso, visiting the Office of Agricultural Defense (Indea), a farm, a slaughterhouse, a rendering plant and feed mill.
In April, Brazil sent mission to Peru to get the embargo lifted. It had been imposed following an atypical case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) in Mato Grosso. In response to the Brazilian request, Peruvian technicians evaluated the system for disease prevention implemented in Brazil in will submit a report to the authorities in two weeks.
