Russia leads pork imports in May
Russia has confirmed its intention to keep Brazil on as its special pork supplier. In May, Russia was the main buyer of pork from Brazil in volume and revenue. In practice, the Russians are following through with what they told the Minister of Agriculture, Neri Geller, in late May - that they would need meat and would give Brazil special treatment.
Russia accounted for 37.71% of Brazil's pork exports in May. It accounted for 51.85% of Brazil's revenue in the month, followed by Hong Kong, with 21.73%, and Angola, with 10.42%.
