Russia allows meat imports from five Brazilian slaughterhouses
The Russian Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) has authorized five Brazilian slaughterhouses to export meat, Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture announced in Friday, May 16.
Of the five plants, four slaughter cattle and pigs. They are a JBS plant in Goiás; an Astra slaughterhouse in Paraná; a VPR Brasil plant, also in Paraná; a Vale Grande plant in Mato Grosso; and a Seara Alimentos plant in Santa Catarina.
The Russian agency has also temporarily suspended the restrictions on eight poultry, pig, and cattle slaughterhouses, according to the Department of International Relations (SRI) at the ministry.
