Egypt begins sanitary inspection of slaughterhouses in Brazil
A group of sanitary experts from Egypt today began a mission that will inspect Brazilian slaughterhouses in Rondônia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás and Minas Gerais. They will be in Brazil until February 13.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the purpose of the Egyptian mission is to renew the beef slaughterhouses’ licenses to export.
Last year, Brazil's beef exports to Egypt earned US$ 486.5 million, according to the ministry.
