After Russia’s approval of six slaughterhouses, Brasil continues meat sales
Last Friday Russia announced its decision to approve exports from six beef slaughterhouses in Brazil, which should offset the embargo Russia imposed on another nine slaughterhouses on October 2, said the executive director of the Brazilian Beef Exporting Industry (Abiec), Fernando Sampaio, yesterday.
With the approval of the six slaughterhouses – four owned by JBS, one by Marfrig and the other by Minerva Foods Brazil has 19 slaughterhouses licensed to export to Russia. Sampaio says this is enough to maintain Brazil’s monthly exports to Russia.
