Chicken and hog production costs rise in August
Chicken and hog production costs rose by 7.89% and 0.41%, respectively, in August compared with July, according to Embrapa Swine and Poultry Concórdia (Santa Catarina state), a decentralized unit of the agricultural research company linked the Ministry of Agriculture.
The increase in chicken production costs was driven by the group of inputs, followed by increases of nutrition and labor. For hogs, the drivers were nutrition, facilities, equipment, the herd, maintenance, and financing.
