Chicken slaughter breaks record in July in Paraná
Paraná state slaughtered 128.75 million head of chicken in July, according to a survey released by Sindiavipar, the association that represents the poultry sector in the state. This volume, 10.9% up on June and 15.8% up on July 2012, is a new record.
In a statement, Domingos Martins, president of Sindiavipar, celebrated the result and said the market "is prepared to absorb supply, as it is more affordable than other types of meat." Slaughter levels are likely to remain high.
