Exports boost chicken prices in Brazil
The price of live chicken and meat are up on the wholesale market in Brazil, driven by strong exports, says the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (CEPEA). Brazilian exporters of fresh chicken meat achieved record revenues in July, according to the Foreign Trade Office (Secex), mentioned by CEPEA. This decreased the supply in Brazil and helped boost domestic prices. Besides exports, prices are being pushed up as an attempt is made to pass on increased live chicken prices.
