Aurora exports up 45% in first half
Coopercentral Aurora Alimentos, a leading processor of pork and poultry in Brazil, earned R$ 483.4 million in the first half of this year, up by 45% on the same period last year, the cooperative announced on Tuesday, July 23. In volume terms, Aurora exported 92,900 tons between January and June this year, growth of 31% year on year.
With a 70% share of its exports, chicken meat Aurora's main product. In the first half, the cooperative exported 64,600 tons of chicken, up by 33.2% year on year. Poultry meat exports earned R$ 333.7 million, up by 55.3%.
Aurora's pork exports earned R$ 140.6 million, up by 25.6%. Volume totaled 23,700 tons, up by 16%. Despite the growth, Aurora mentioned difficulties with the temporary ban by Ukraine, which has barred imports of pork from Brazil between March and June.
