Brazil to earn record US$ 6 billion from beef exports in 2013 -ABIEC
Brazil's beef exports will earn a record US$ 6 billion in 2013, with increased sales to major markets, including the Middle East and Asia, said the president of industry association, ABIEC.
Brazil, the world's largest beef exporter, filed record revenue of US$ 5.8 billion from exports of the product in 2012.
In May the OIE confirmed Brazil's classification as of 'negligible risk' for BSE.
A devaluation of the Brazilian real is another factor, making Brazilian beef cheaper than its competitors, such as the US and Australia.
