Aurora starts slaughtering and processing in Xaxim
On Monday, April 22, Coopercentral Aurora Alimentos started slaughtering and processing at its plant in Xaxim. Confirmation came from the president of Aurora, Mário Lanznaster, who reported that 60,000 chickens will be slaughtered a day, rising to the maximum installed capacity of 238,000 head a day in December.
According to Lanznaster, Aurora will invest R$ 60 million this half of the year to get the unit back up to full speed. The physical investments total R$ 20 million, including the acquisition of two poultry evisceration lines, the refurbishment of equipment and facilities, and other improvements. Another R$ 40 million in working capital will be needed to finance the resumption of industrial operations, the housing of chickens and the acquisition of raw materials and other production inputs.
