Russia buys 28,000 tons of Brazilian beef in January
Russia, Hong Kong and Venezuela bought 64% of the fresh beef exported by Brazil in January.
The Brazilian Meat Exporters Association (Abiec), based on information from the Foreign Trade Office (Secex) at the Ministry of Development (MDIC), says Russia bought more than 28,000 tons of fresh beef, up by 73% on January 2011, worth US$ 109.4 million, up by 52%.
Hong Kong imported 15,157 tons of fresh Brazilian beef, up by 85% on January last year and almost 25% up on December 2012. Revenue totaled US$ 67.816 million, the best ever for the period.
