Lack of highways maintenance harms animal transport in Mato Grosso, says Acrimat
The lack of infrastructure and poor maintenance of highways and bridges in Mato Grosso are harming animal transport in the main meat-producing regions, says the Mato Grosso Breeders Association (Acrimat).
The problem, says the association, hits farmers, slaughterhouses and drivers, who are late with deliveries, causing a loss in animal carcass quality, vehicle damage and missed deadlines.
Rainfall intensifies as of December, making conditions dangerous.
