Pork exports up 55.2% in September
Brazilian exports of fresh pork increased significantly in September compared to the same month in 2011, said the Foreign Trade Office (Secex), at the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) on Monday. Beef and chicken exports rose more modestly. Prices continue to fall for all products.
According to Secex, exports of fresh pork totaled 54,500 tons last month, up by 55.2% compared with September 2011. Revenue was up by 43.9%, from US$ 101.5 million to US$ 146.1 million. The price per ton of fell by 11.4%, to US$ 2,680.70.
