Barclays to buy 80% of French group Doux, says union
The French group Doux, the largest chicken producer and processor in Europe, is to sell 80% of its capital to Barclays Bank, says Raymond Gouiffes, one of the representatives of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT). The goal will be to maintain the company's solvency on the market.
"Barclays will hold an 80% stake and Doux, 20%," said Gouiffes. The French company currently holds an 80% stake, while the bank BNP Paribas owns 20%. In June, Doux was declared bankrupt for failing to reach an agreement with its creditors.
