JBS leases Doux Frangosul assets
JBS has announced that it has leased assets owned by Doux Frangosul, so getting into the poultry segment in Brazil without taking on any of the company's debts. JBS is to create a new business division in its structure to be called JBS Aves Brasil.
According to the company, "the idea was to save the operation." In a statement, JBS said that "by the agreement, shall assume no pending, charges, restraint, seizure or inability of any other nature." It said "it is a lease asset, in which JBS will make your operation”. JBS will hire all current employees and will continue to Frangosul contracts with integrated and outsourced service providers.
JBS thus increases its global production capacity by more than 15%, to approximately 9 million birds a day. In Brazil, the operations are distributed in major grain and chicken-producing states, while it also has units in twelve US states, as well as Mexico and Puerto Rico, where it has one of the largest industrial parks in the world in this segment.
