JBS’ acquisitions concern farmers
JBS’ buying up of smaller slaughterhouses is said to be in order to retain widespread presence in Brazil. Farmers, however, are concerned.
Famers and representatives from the sector are expected to meet later month in Mato Grosso do Sul to discuss the concentration of the market. They believe the increasing concentration of the market in the hands of large groups will bring down beef cattle prices.
