Pig farmers from MT threaten to leave the activity due to high cost
Pig farmers in Mato Grosso threaten to leave the activity this year, if the scenario in the sector suffers no alteration. The farmers complain of low profitability, with costs above the price paid for the product. Activity currently brings together nearly 650 producers in the state, amounting to a herd of 120,000 animals. The president of the Association of Pig Breeders in Mato Grosso (Acrismat), Lucion Paul, explains that the cost of production is higher than the meat sale.
