JBS back in the black Q411, but closes the year with R$ 75.7 million loss
JBS, one of the leaders on the global animal protein market, filed a net profit of R$ 25.6 million in the last quarter of last year, compared with R$ 539.3 million loss in same period of 2010 and R$ 67.5 million loss in the third quarter of 2011.
Net revenue from the company's sales in the period grew 18.1%, to R$ 16.9 billion. Operating profit measured by Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) increased 8.6% in the fourth quarter of 2011, compared with the same quarter the year before, to R$ 940.6 million. In the same comparison basis, the company's Ebitda margin decreased from 6% to 5.6%.
