Paraná cooperatives to invest R$ 640 million in pork production
Representatives of agricultural cooperatives Castrolanda, Batavo and Capal have presented a project to expand pig production in the Campos Gerais region to the Governor of Paraná, Beto Richa. The investment is expected to be up to R$ 640 million, generating about 7,000 direct and indirect jobs.
The project includes construction of a slaughterhouse (R$ 180 million), 11 piglet production units (R$ 250 million), 220 pig finishing farms (R$ 180 million) and the expansion of a feed mill (R$ 30 million). Works is planned to begin at the end of the year, with completion in a year and a half.
