Pork exports up in February
Pork exports rose in both revenue and volume terms on the same period last year. Revenue totaled US$ 84.7 million in February, up 14.2% compared with US$ 74.2 million in February 2011, while volume rose by 4.1%, from 29,600 tons to 30,800 tons. The average price was US$ 2.750/ton, up by 9.7%.
In comparison with January, pork exports fell by 0.4% in revenue, due to the 0.7% fall in price, but volume was up by 0.3%. The data are from the Foreign Trade Office (Secex), at the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC).
