Chicken exports up in February
Chicken exports totaled US$ 469.1 million, up 16% on the US$ 404.5 million earned in February 2011. Volume increased from 255,700 tons to 257,000 tons, a slight rise of 0.5%. Prices in the period were US$ 1.825/ton, up 15.4%.
In comparison with January, chicken exports fell by 12% in revenue and 12.5% in volume. Prices rose by 0.6%. The data are from the Foreign Trade Office (Secex), at the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC).
