Doux capitalization to restructure debt
In a statement, Doux has said it will not comment on the sale of its pig business. Regarding its capitalization, it has stated that the majority shareholder (French businessman Charles Doux) has decided to take the company public and look for a new investor, recapitalizing the company and restructuring its debt for future growth.
The company's director-general, Aristides Vogt, has also promised to normalize the supply of feed to integrated pig and poultry farmers. According to the president of the Rio Grande do Sul Federation of Agricultural Workers (Fetag-RS), Elton Weber, Vogt says the company will pay off its debts to its integrated pig farmers, but the president of the Rio Grande do Sul Association of Pig Breeders (Acsurs) Valdecir Folador, says it was unclear when farmers will begin to get paid.
