Parana continues to lead Brazil in poultry production
Parana state closed 2011 with a record volume of 1.39 billion chickens slaughtered and remains the country’s leader in poultry production. Although it is in second place in poultry exports, behind Santa Catarina state, the state registered an increase of 3.4% in 2011 in comparison to 2010 in shipments abroad. Exports totalled 1.03 billion kilos of the product. Santa Catarina exported 1.04 billion kilos, up by 2.2% in relation to 2010. The numbers are from the Agriculture Ministry.
