More claimants join lawsuit against Doux Frangosul
The number of integrated producers going to court to claim payments owned by Doux Frangosul is growing. After 13 farmers were granted an injunction making the animals security for payment of arrears, three more pig farmers will be included in the lawsuit, bringing the total to 16 out of the 30 that have kept reproducing sows on their properties.
"We believe there may still be an agreement. We are waiting for the company to make a comment, as since the beginning of the case there has been almost no dialogue," says farmer and vice president of the Rio Grande do Sul Association of Pig Farmers (Acsurs), Jandir Pilotto.
