Rabies in cattle, horses and mules on the increase

In one week, cases of bovine rabies increased from 30 to 40 in Paraná, mainly in the northern region of the state. The incidence of the disease - transmitted by bites from infected bats - is monitored by technicians from the Department of Agriculture and Supply, who have warned farmers about the importance of vaccinating animals and reporting cases of the disease.

Of the cases reported, 32 cases were in cattle, four in horses, on in a mule and three in non-vampire bats.
