JBS closes unit in Argentina
JBS has announced the closure of its slaughterhouse in the city of Venado Tuerto, in Argentina. The company said, in a statement, that it is adjusting its activities in Argentina to the country's macroeconomic situation.
According to the company, the closure stems from the need for it to remain competitive in Argentina. Despite the suspension of its operations, where 500 people are employed, the plants in Rosario, Pilar, and Pontevedra are to be kept open. The Brazilian company is facing difficulties in Argentina due to the constraints imposed by the Argentine government on beef exports.
