WTO Okays $1.01 Billion in Tariffs on US Goods RE: COOL

The Mexican Ministry of Economy said it would seek suspension of trade benefits for US imports of agricultural and industrial products including: apples, milk, alcoholic beverages and personal hygiene products, among others. “This reprisal measure will take place shortly and will be vigilantly maintained until the United States honors its international commitments with the WTO and completely eliminates the COOL measures,” the ministry said in a statement on Dec. 7. “Furthermore, Mexico will use a revolving approach in rotating the products designated (as suspended) as it deems appropriate.” Mexico's list of US products for which is would seek suspension of trade benefits is available in Spanish at this link.
